Afternoon Tea

“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to

the ceremony known as afternoon tea”

Henry James – The Portrait of a Lady

Our  Afternoon Tea is a delightful way to enjoy a pre-opera treat before visiting the famous Glyndebourne Opera House or it can be a way to celebrate birthdays, engagements, a get together with friends or even served as a wedding breakfast. The indulgence of afternoon tea has been around since the 1800s and we are only too happy to carry on this tradition. Our tea room is licenced so why not add some sparkling  for that extra special touch. 1. My wife and I were taken today, as a present from our daughter, to the Little Cottage Tea Rooms in Glynde for a celebration tea. We had the Verona selection and first enjoyed the savoury snacks on Italian
Cebatta bread, including Parma ham ,olives, soft cheese, chopped tomatoes, two diferent salami’s
and green salad. A glass of sparkling wine plus tea in a pretty tea pot was most welcome. Next came a selection of scones ( fruited or plain) with strawberry jam and delicious clotted cream. followed by a choice of home made sponge cakes, absolutely mouthwatering. Our afternoon tea was equal to any “posh” hotel , probably better. Service was excellent with aplomb that only comes with loving what you are doing. My personnel score is .9.5 out of 10 . Love to return in the summer and sit in the garden.

  2. My friend and I popped in for morning
Coffee , we were greeted by delightful
owners, such a pretty tearoom and beautiful garden , we enjoyed our coffee and tea along with delicious tea cake and scone , my friend and I agreed it is the best tearoom that we have been to,and will certainly be visiting this little gem of a place

  3. Thank you for the really lovely tea we had this afternoon. We will be recommending your beautiful tea room and gardens to all our friends and family.

  4. Had a lovely afternoon tea with my friend for birthday treat this afternoon, they had power cut in the morning and the owner contacted me to rebook for later in the afternoon, so glad we waited, the afternoon tea was absolutely delicious, one of the best I’ve had….sandwiches good choice, scones homemade and delicious, lovely China and tearoom, music was divine (christmasy)….loved every minute well worth the money, will definitely return in the spring and sit in the garden …..highly recommended
